WJCC Democrats meet on the third Thursday of every month at 7 pm at the Historic Triangle Community Services Building, 312 Waller Mill Road, Williamsburg, VA 23185.

Next Meeting:

January 17, 2019
7 pm
Charvalla West, director of community impact, United Way

Topic: Poverty in our community

What is the face of poverty here in Williamsburg and James City County?  What help is available?  What kinds of challenges do poor people face every day?  What does the future hold?  And what can we do?
Charvalla West will join us to share research, stories and interactive quizzes to give us a better understanding of what poverty looks like in our own community, what limited government assistance is available, how the shortfall is being met, and how sustainable this approach is for the future.
