Stand for Safe Communities, against Gun Sanctuary in James City County

A proposal to make James City County a Gun Sanctuary will be under consideration at the Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 5 pm at 101 Mounts Bay Rd, Building F.

As many of us as possible need to be there to oppose this measure and stand instead for gun safety legislation that will be introduced in the next General Assembly session.

Here are some ways you can help:

  • Come to the meeting.  There is power in numbers!

  • Speak at the meeting.Email us and we'll provide you with details.

  • Sign our petition. We'll be presenting a copy of the petition and your comments to the Board. You can find the petition here. And share it with your friends.

  • Write a letter to the editor. Email us and we'll provide you with details.

  • Write to each Supervisor, explaining in your own words why you oppose making James City County a gun sanctuary and why you support gun safety legislation.  Here are email addresses for each Board member.

Holiday party

Join us to celebrate our year's hard work and victories at a holiday party Thursday, Dec. 12, 6-8 pm at the Vineyards at Jockey's Neck Clubhouse, 2659 Jockey's Neck Trail, Williamsburg.

Also bring your checkbook or cash or non-perishable food (cans of meat/tuna, veggies, fruits, peanut butter or family size boxes of pasta, instant potatoes or rice).  Our goal is to give a boost to FISH, Inc. --  because stocks of food are running low this time of year.  Want to make an on-line donation now?  Just click here. .

And please let us know you're planning to join us at the party by emailing us here.  We hope to see you there!

January meeting and reorganization

We'll elect officers and reorganize our committee at our meeting Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020, 7-9 pm, at The Palace, 113A Palace Lane, Williamsburg.

More details soon on our plans to make our committee more effective and more representative as we head into the 2020 campaign season.  This is our chance to get rid of Trump and re-elect Congresswoman Elaine Luria and Sen. Mark Warner.  We'll also be supporting the Democratic challenger to Rob Wittman as we work to create the biggest Blue Wave yet.

Our headquarters, AKA The Palace, was a huge part of our success in 2019, and we've renewed our lease for 2020. All our campaigns will be under one roof, with ample space and parking.

Can you help with a one-time or recurring donation?
